Today's game was UT's first shutout of the Commodores since a 41-0 decision in 1998 ... The Vols limited Vanderbilt to 205 total yards and just 61 rushing on 36 attempts.
QB Casey Clausen completed 20-of-29 for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns this afternoon ... Clausen moved into 6th place on UT's all-time career passing leaders list today, passing Alan Cockrell (3823) ... Clausen, a sophomore, has passed for 3942 yards during his UT career ... Clausen has completed 62-of-94 (.660) for 861 yards with 11 TDs and 1 interception the past three games.
Clausen is now 15-2 as a starter at quarterback for the Vols, including a 11-1 mark in SEC games ... He has a 10-1 mark as the Vols' QB when throwing for at least 200 yards (7-1 in 2001) ...
Donte Stallworth continued his torrid pace of recent weeks today ... Stallworth, who racked up 6 TDs and over 300 receiving yards the past two games, returned a second quarter Vanderbilt punt 55 yards for a touchdown and hauled in a career-long 80-yard TD pass from Clausen in the third quarter to make it 28-0 ... Stallworth's two big plays were the longest punt return and pass play of the season for Tennessee ... Stallworth's 55-yard punt return-his first TD return of his career--was the Vols' first for a score since Eric Parker's 69-yarder against Memphis in 1999.
Stallworth became the 12th UT receiver to amass 1500 career receiving yards in today's game ... Stallworth caught 4 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown ... Stallworth surpassed the 100-yard receiving mark today for the third consecutive game ... In the Vols' last three games, Stallworth has caught 19 passes for 439 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Tennessee's defense recorded a season-high 5 quarterback sacks and 3 interceptions today ... DE Constantin Ritzmann led the way with two sacks for -19 yards ... Ritzmann also recorded 2 tackles for loss for another 14 yards in losses ... DE Will Overstreet moved to No. 10 on the Vols' all-time sack list with 18.5 with a sack (-14) today ... UT, which also had five sacks in the season opener against Syracuse, has now recorded 28 sacks on the season.
DB Rashad Baker intercepted his fourth pass of the season today ... Baker returned the pick 41 yards, equaling Baker's team-leading long of the year he recorded against Georgia ... Baker's four interceptions leads the Vols this season ... The sophomore now has five interceptions for his career since moving to free safety last season ... DB Mark Jones picked off the first pass of his career today ... Jones intercepted a second quarter Zolman pass and returned it 27 yards to the Vanderbilt 24 ... The pick set up the Vols' first TD of the afternoon, giving UT a 14-0 advantage with 9:07 remaining in the half ... SeniorDB Buck Fitzgerald, who also recorded a sack today, picked off his first pass of the season (1st career) in his final game at Neyland Stadium.
PK Alex Walls connected on 3-of-3 field goals this afternoon, running his consecutive streak to seven straight made ... Walls made field goals of 37, 27 and 42 yards today ... Walls has not missed on a field goal attempt since the Oct. 20 Alabama game, during which time he is 2-of-2 from 40 yards or more ... His season-long 44-yarder last week at Kentucky in the final minutes was the difference in UT's 38-35 win at Lexington ... Walls is now 13-of-17 on the season after beginning the year 6-of-10.
Tennessee averaged 106, 843 fans at its home games this season ... This year's average attendance ranks third all-time following last year's 107,595 average and the 106,914 average in 1998 ... UT ranked second nationally in attendance last season.
