VOL PROFILE: Why did you decide to attend the University of Tennessee?
Whiteside: "It was real close to home, and I knew it was a good program. I got along really well with the coaches. Coach Brooks recruited me and I really got to like him, so that was a big part of my decision to come to Tennessee."
VOL PROFILE: Do you think this year's tough schedule this year will be motivational factor for the team?
Whiteside: "I think the schedule is going to play a big part in our motivation this season. We're going to have to come out every week and play against our opponent because we don't have an easy schedule. So I think we are going to have to be very motivated and be top of our game every week."
VOL PROFILE: Is there anyone that you look to motivation or inspiration?
Whiteside: "No not really. I just try to go out there like the whole team and work hard so we can play good for each other. We try to do that and go out there and play as a team."
VOL PROFILE: What is your favorite or most memorable moment on the field?
Whiteside: I would say this season against LSU. That has to one of my most memorable moments. Finally getting to play a little bit more and making that big play, so I would say that is my favorite moment."
VOL PROFILE: What is your favorite thing about UT?
Whiteside: I pretty much just like everything. It's a well-rounded atmosphere and school."
VOL PROFILE: Do you have any certain mental preparation rituals you do before each game?
Whiteside: "I read my Bible first, and try to get my mind right from that standpoint. Then I put some music on and try to be quiet and stay to myself so I can focus and be ready when game time comes."
VOL PROFILE: After you graduate, what would you like to be remembered for?
Whiteside: "I think I would just like to remembered as a good person, just a down to earth person that everyone can talk to and relate to, and a good team player."
