LADY VOL ROWING TEAM BEGINS SIXTH SEASON

Fourth-year University of Tennessee Head Rowing Coach Lisa Glenn will lead her troops down to Chattanooga, Tenn., to compete in the Chattanooga Head Race. The regatta marks the first event of the year for the five-year-old Lady Vol Rowing program.
UT will enter 14 boats over four events. Among the races the team is entered in are the Championship 8+, Championship 4+, Championship Pairs and the Novice 8+. The fall rowing season is a contrast to the spring season as the shells each launch at different intervals along the 2.8 mile course. The winner is then determined by the boat that finishes the course in the quickest amount of time.
After this week's regatta most of the Lady Vols return home to participate in the Head of Tennessee while a Varsity 8+ contingent will head up to Boston, Mass., for the Head of the Charles.
