Looking For A Few
to name the student section at Tennessee Basketball home games The sixth man. It is you. You have the ability to energize the players. They feed off of your enthusiasm, your cheers, your noise, and your support. You also have the ability to frustrate the opposition. You force them to make turnovers, to miss foul shots, and to call timeouts because they can't hear well enough to communicate with one another on the hardwood. The Athletic Department recognizes the value of the student fan and their contributions to winning games at home. We want to create a fun atmosphere for the students. But what do we call you? There are the well-known Cameron Crazies at Duke, the Izzones at Michigan State, Stanford's The Sixth Man Club and Florida's Rowdy Reptiles. What do we call you? We need a name for our student section. This is your chance to create an identity, give yourself a nationally recognized name, and begin a tradition with Tennessee basketball. The Name that Section contest will run from Feb. 1 Feb.28. The winning entry will be announced at halftime during the last home game of the season against LSU March 3. The winner receives two round-trip airline tickets to any destination within the continental United States, a gift bag of Tennessee gear from adidas consisting of shoes, warm-ups, a pullover and hat, and a textbook scholarship (one semester) from Rocky Top Books. |
