Knoxville, Tenn. - Curtis Moncus and Willie Stewart each homered as the UNC Asheville Bulldogs defeated the Tennessee Volunteers, 4-2, at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The loss snapped Tennessee's 19-game non-conference winning streak and 29-game non-conference home winning streak.

Marlyn Tisdale (3-1) suffered the loss for Tennessee as he allowed three runs in five innings.
UNC Asheville improved to 17-20 with the win, while Tennessee fell to 33-15. Moncus led off the game with his fourth home run of the season and the Bulldogs added a second run on the first Vol error for a 2-0 lead in the first.
The Vols plated their first run in the second when Ryan Moffett, who doubled to lead off the frame, scored Ryan Case's groundout, after moving to third on a wild pitch. Stewart led off the fourth with his fifth home run as the Bulldogs grabbed a 3-1 lead. With one out in the sixth, the Volunteers loaded the bases on three straight walks before Stevie Daniel delivered with a single to right to cut the Bulldogs lead to 3-2.
The Bulldogs added an insurance run in the ninth when Moncus walked, stole second and scored when catcher John Massey's throw on the steal sailed into centerfield.
Tennessee plays host to the Florida Gators this weekend, Apr. 21-23. Game times are 7 p.m., 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. EDT.
