Vols Add McGruder to Football Signing Class

The University of Tennessee has added Lynn McGruder to its 2000 football signing class. McGruder, a 6-3, 280-pound lineman from North Las Vegas, Nev., signed scholarship papers with the Vols on Friday night, becoming the 27th signee in Tennessee's 2000 football recruiting class.

A PrepStar All-America, McGruder was named Gatorade Player of the Year in Nevada. During his senior year at Cheyenne High School, he totaled 65 tackles, including 12 sacks.

Head coach Phillip Fulmer is pleased about signing McGruder. "We are very excited about Lynn coming to Tennessee," Fulmer said. "He brings a lot to this program with his outstanding character and leadership qualities, and his addition adds to what we feel is an outstanding recruiting class."
