Three Vols Named to Coaches' Freshman All-SEC Team

Munoz started all 11 games at right tackle and Wells started the last nine games at center following Fred Weary's season-ending ankle injury in the Florida game. Baker started eight games at free safety and recorded 31 tackles with one interception and two pass break ups. He missed the season finale against Vanderbilt with an ankle injury.
Behind the efforts of Munoz, Wells and the rest of the offensive line, the Vols finished third in the SEC in rushing at 162.7 yards per game and tailback Travis Henry was able to post the third-highest single-season rushing total at Tennessee of 1,314 yards.
It is the first time since 1994 that the Vols placed three players on the all-freshman team. That year, quarterback Peyton Manning was tabbed Freshman of the Year. He was joined by defensive back Terry Fair and offensive lineman Robert Poole.
The coaches named Florida's Jabar
Gaffney as the SEC Freshman of the Year. Auburn, Kentucky and Florida each
had four players named to the team, while Tennessee, LSU and Arkansas had
three apiece.
