Sixteen Vols Named to SEC Football Academic Honor Roll

Sixteen members of the Tennessee football team have been named to the 2000 SEC Football Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office.
Tennessee's academic honorees are led by senior punter David Leaverton, who has been named to the honor roll for the fourth consecutive year.
Leaverton, who played the 2000 season as a graduate student, finished his undergraduate studies with a 3.53 grade point average in marketing. Six other Vols were named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third time, including fullback Will Bartholomew, tight end John Finlayson, punter Sammy Frogg, receiver Josh Houston, quarterback Josh Plemons and receiver Burney Veazey.
To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must meet the following criteria:
