Helton was on campus to participate in last night's UT's annual home run contest at Lindsey Nelson Stadium to close fall workouts. He will be honored prior to today's Tennessee-Alabama football game at midfield.
The Hank Aaron Award was introduced in 1999 to honor the 25th anniversary of Aaron breaking Babe Ruth's all-time home-run record. As the first major award to be introduced in more 30 years, the Hank Aaron Award recognizes the best overall hitter in each league for a particular season. In 2000, the play-by-play broadcasters and color analysts from each club's radio and television rightsholders voted for the winner.
