KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off its first series of the 2018 season, the Tennessee baseball team is back in action on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. for a midweek contest against in-state foe Lipscomb at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. - Tennessee first-year head coach Tony Vitello earned his first victory as a head coach in Sunday's series finale against Maryland as the Vols avoided the series sweep with a 13-6 win.
- UT's 13 runs scored in Sunday's series finale is the most the team has scored in a game since scoring 14 vs. Belmont on May 9, 2017. The 16 hits accumulated by the Vols in that same game were the most since recording 17 base knocks vs. UC Irvine on Feb. 25, 2017.
- The Vols have seven players batting .308 or better after the opening weekend led by senior catcher Benito Santiago, who is hitting at a .462 clip entering Tuesday's contest.
- Sophomore shortstop Andre Lipcius had the best game of his young career in Sunday's series finale against the Terps, recording a career best six RBI to go along with three hits, two runs and his first-career grand slam. Lipcius currently leads the team with seven total RBI.
- Sophomore Jay Charleston homered in each game of Sunday's doubleheader, including a solo shot to lead off the bottom of the first inning in Game 1. The Longwood, Fla., native did not hit any home runs in 25 games played as a freshman in 2017.
- Redshirt sophomore Nico Mascia earned his first-career start in Sunday's series finale and made the most of his opportunity, going 2-for-5 with an RBI, both career bests.
- Freshman third baseman Wyatt Stapp impressed in his debut series, going 4-for-10 with an RBI, three walks and a team-best .538 on-base percentage. He was the only UT player to record multiple hits in the Vols' season opener on Friday night.
- 2017 Record: 28-28 (9-12 A-SUN)
- Lipscomb was picked to finish sixth in the 2018 Atlantic Sun Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Lipscomb is coming off a series victory over UNC Ashville during their opening weekend, taking two of three games from the Bulldogs.
- The Bisons are led by a pair of Preseason All-ASUN Conference selections in junior third baseman Zeke Dodson and senior Jake Perry as well as Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Third-Team All-American Lee Solomon.
- Lipscomb returned 20 players from last season's team including six position starters and one starting pitcher. The Bisons also added 12 newcomers.
- Freshman RHP Sean Hunley hails from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., a suburb of Nashville.

Next up for the Big Orange is a three-game series against UNC Greensboro. The Vols will host the Spartans on Friday at 3:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Clear Bag Policy
In order to enhance safety and expedite fan entry at Tennessee athletic events, UT has implemented a clear bag policy at Lindsey Nelson Stadium and all other athletic facilities. Only one clear bag no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches (gallon size) per person is permitted. Fans are also allowed a small clutch purse not exceeding 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.
Stadium Entry
Please be aware that gates will not open until 90 minutes prior to game time as opposed to two hours like it has been in years past.
Parking
Baseball parking is located in Lots G16, GF2, GF3, GF4, and C22. (Thompson-Boling Arena and Neyland Stadium events have priority if on same days as baseball games.)
Additional parking is located on the street along Todd Helton Drive. Parking for MVP ticket holders is located in Lot GF1 and handicap parking is located in marked handicap spaces on Pat Head Summitt Drive and G16 Garage.
