Jerry Caplan joined Tennessee Athletics in November of 2021 and currently serves as the director of academic services. In his role, Caplan is the lead counselor for the football and women’s tennis teams.
Prior to arriving in Knoxville, he worked as an academic counselor at Auburn University, supporting the football program.
He began his career at the University of Toledo, where he worked with football, men’s and women’s tennis, volleyball and soccer teams.
Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Caplan earned his bachelor’s degree in health science/pre-physical therapy from Florida A&M University in 2014, where he was also a member of the football team. He later earned his master’s degree in sport administration from Georgia State University in 2017.
He and his wife, Stephanie, live in Knoxville with their daughter, Skylar, and son, Jeremiah.
