Bill Timpano joined the Tennessee Athletics staff in September of 2018.

He is responsible for overseeing all areas of personnel and playing & practice seasons for the UTAD Compliance Office and serves as the sport liaison for Baseball, Men’s Basketball and Volleyball. He is also the office’s administrative facilitator to Facility Services, Fan Experience, Human Resources, NCAA Apps, Letterwinner Relations, Sports Medicine and Teamworks. Timpano also heads rules education initiatives and manages the internship program for the compliance office.

In October 2021—after previously serving as Director of Compliance—Timpano was promoted to Senior Director of Compliance. He was elevated to Assistant Athletics Director of Compliance in November 2024.

Prior to Tennessee, Timpano was the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance at Marshall University from September 2016 through August 2018. He served as Graduate Assistant and Assistant Director in the compliance office at Marshall before being promoted and also spent time interning with the New York Jets in the fall of 2012.

Timpano has been a member of the National Association of Athletics Compliance (NAAC) since 2013 and was selected to participate in the inaugural NAAC Athletics Compliance Elite (A.C.E.) Mentoring Program in 2016.

A native of New Hartford, New York, Timpano earned his bachelor’s degree in History from the State University of New York at Cortland in May 2013. In addition, he earned a master’s degree in Sport Administration from Marshall University in May 2015.
