  • Tied for 79th place at the Clemson Invitational after shooting 236 through three rounds
  • Carded 219 at the SunTrust Gator Invitational to tie for 30th place
  •  At the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, Newell shot a 73 (+2) in the first round and finished tied for 51st overall
  • Started out the spring leading the Lady Vols at the Northrop Grumman, finishing tied for 49th after shooting a team-best 73 (+2) in round one
  • Concluded the Trinity Forest Invitational with final rounds of 82 to tie for 45th place (236, +20)
  • Shot a tournament-low round of 67 on the opening day of the Magnolia Invitational en route to tying for 17th place
  • Turned in a perfect card with three birdies for her final 18 holes to also take home third place at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship. Over the course of the tournament, Newell shot a seven-under 206 (69-69-68)
  • Paced the Volunteers in the two-day Ocean Course Invitational with a two-over 221. The Florida native carded two rounds at or below par to finish the tournament in 14th place, marking Newell's best finish since she tied for 13th place at the 3M Augusta Invitational last spring
