Derek was the first student athlete to receive the UT Men's Swimming and Diving Joe Hendee Service Award for his services to the community. Derek became the first member of Swimming and Diving team to compete while attending UT Law School. While not practicing law, Derek serves as the Executive Director of local sports team, Tennessee Aquatics. Derek's goal is to help Vols maintain and grow their relationships with teammates and their connection to the university of Tennessee.
