Dr. Amber Luhn was born in East Ridge, Tennessee, and grew up in Watkinsville, Georgia. After graduating magna cum laude with a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Georgia in Athens, she went on to complete her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. While there, she served as a member of the Student Government Association and earned the Harry O'Rear Outstanding Student in Pediatrics. Following an internship and residency in General Pediatrics in Augusta, Dr. Luhn completed a fellowship in Pediatric Primary Care Sports Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. While doing her fellowship training, she served as assistant team physician at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She also earned the opportunity to speak on the female athlete triad for the Women's Virtual Library at UTHSCSA and was invited to present her research abstract at the American College of Sports Medicine National Meeting in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Luhn and her husband, a Knoxville native, are the proud parents of two girls and twin boys. Her children all enjoy being involved in Tae Kwon Do. Spending time with her family is her top priority in her leisure time. Dr. Luhn has been the team physician for Karns High School for six seasons. She is starting her fourth season as team physician for UT athletics. Her primary responsibilities for UT athletics are serving the women's soccer and women's basketball teams.
