Stroked the 2V8 to a second-place finish in the grand finals of the Big 12 Championship, edging out Kansas State and Oklahoma in the final sprint with a time of 6:53.670.
Took second in the 2V8 Petite Final at the Women’s Sprints in Worcester, Mass. with a time of 7:00.658.
Part of the 2V4 that finished second in the 2V4 B Final at the Clemson Invitational with a time of 7:28.92.
At the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, rowed 8 seat in the 3V8 that finished first ahead of Notre Dame, Minnesota and Clemson with a time of 6:33.812.
Part of the crew that finished 11^th out of 40 teams in the Club 8+ at the 2017 Head of the Charles Regatta with a time of 17:13.080.

Sat in the fourth seat of the 2V8+ boat which finished third in the petite finals at the San Diego Crew Classic with a time of 7:02.167.
Rowed the seventh seat in the V8+ boat at the Head of the Hooch when the team took fourth with a time of 16:35.4 while also sitting in the third seat of the V4+ which finished fifth in 17:56.1

Katie Rose Porter, daughter of Patty and Jay Porter, was born on April 14, 1997
Has two younger siblings named Natalie and Owen
Member of the rowing team for three years where she was coached by Emma Green and Chris Graves
Part of the team that won the WMIRA Women's 4's Points Trophy in 2012-13
Played basketball for one season in high school and was named team captain
Qualified for SRAA Nationals Grand Final in juniors (2013) and was also a petite finalist (2013, 2014) and semifinalist (2015)
Notched a seventh place finish at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta in 2014
Semifinalist at Club Nationals as a member of the Thompsons Boat Center Club
After graduating from Tennessee, Porter wants to go to medical school and become either an OBGYN or a Pediatric Oncologist
