- Stroked the 2V8 to a second-place finish in the grand finals of the Big 12 Championship, edging out Kansas State and Oklahoma in the final sprint with a time of 6:53.670.
- Took second in the 2V8 Petite Final at the Women’s Sprints in Worcester, Mass. with a time of 7:00.658.
- Part of the 2V4 that finished second in the 2V4 B Final at the Clemson Invitational with a time of 7:28.92.
- At the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, rowed 8 seat in the 3V8 that finished first ahead of Notre Dame, Minnesota and Clemson with a time of 6:33.812.
- Part of the crew that finished 11th out of 40 teams in the Club 8+ at the 2017 Head of the Charles Regatta with a time of 17:13.080.
- Rowed bow seat in the 1V8+ that posted a third place finish in the Grand Finals of Big 12 Championship with a time of 6:26.997
- Rowed seven seat in the 1V8+ that finished fifth in the 1V8+ B Final at the Clemson Invitational

- Rowed the bow position for the 2V8+ at the Big 12 Championship as the boat finished in third place at the grand finals with a time of 6:58.522.
- Bow seat in the 2V8+ as they finished second with a time of 6:45.6 at the Tennessee Invitational Conference Clash.
- Seventh position for the 1V8+ boat which finished with a time of 6:50.1 on the first day of the Clemson Invitational. Joined the 2V8+ in the third seat on day two as she helped them to a fourth place finish with a mark of 7:04.2.
- Sat in the fourth seat of the 2V8+ boat which finished third in the petite finals at the San Diego Crew Classic with a time of 7:02.167.
- Rowed the seventh seat in the V8+ boat at the Head of the Hooch when the team took fourth with a time of 16:35.4 while also sitting in the third seat of the V4+ which finished fifth in 17:56.1

- Katie Rose Porter, daughter of Patty and Jay Porter, was born on April 14, 1997
- Has two younger siblings named Natalie and Owen
- Member of the rowing team for three years where she was coached by Emma Green and Chris Graves
- Part of the team that won the WMIRA Women's 4's Points Trophy in 2012-13
- Played basketball for one season in high school and was named team captain
- Qualified for SRAA Nationals Grand Final in juniors (2013) and was also a petite finalist (2013, 2014) and semifinalist (2015)
- Notched a seventh place finish at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta in 2014
- Semifinalist at Club Nationals as a member of the Thompsons Boat Center Club
- After graduating from Tennessee, Porter wants to go to medical school and become either an OBGYN or a Pediatric Oncologist
- Worked with the STAGE Program, Choir, and the School Television Program at Walter Johnson High School
