Along with Rockies manager Jim Tracy and 11 other teammates, Helton visited the University of Colorado Hospital where they spent time with five patients, including four who remain in critical condition.Â
The Rockies also toured the emergency room, thanking the doctors and nurses who worked to save lives in the aftermath of the shooting.
"This was a terrible tragedy and anything we can do to divert their attention, or make them think about something else or maybe put a smile on somebody's face, is worth it," Helton said.
