Vols In The NFL Update (8/19)

The two NFL games last night, featuring lots of action for former Vols.

The Patriots knocked off the Buccaneers, 31-14. Jerod Mayo made a triumphant debut in the preseason with five tackles, two sacks for 17 yards and two passes defended. Fellow former Vols Shaun Ellis and Albert Haynesworth did not play for New England. With the Bucs, Jonathan Crompton and Nick Reveiz saw time, but had not stats. Luke Stocker is still nursing an injury and didn't play for Tampa Bay.

In the Steelers 24-14 win over the Eagles. With Pittsburgh, Ramon Foster started at left guard while Chris Scott played as a reserve lineman. He was injured early in the game, but returned to action. Gerald Jones was the story of the game for the Eagles as he had two touchdown receptions (14, 7 yards) as part of his three catches for 36 yards.
