University of Tennessee Associate Athletic Director/Director of Sports Medicine Jason McVeigh announced today that sophomore Dontavis Sapp underwent surgery Monday night to correct a fractured left ring finger. Sapp suffered the injury in Monday afternoon's practice.
Sapp is expected to return to practice in the next 1-2 weeks and is also expected to be available for the season opener against Montana on Sept. 3.Â
The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Ivy of the Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic.
