Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back and former Tennessee Vol (2004-07)Â Jonathan Hefney has been named the CFL defensive player of the week.
Hefney registered nine tackles and a 20-yard kickoff return in the Bombers' 25-20 win over the B.C. Lions at Canad Inns Stadium on July 28.
The award marks the sixth time this season that a member of the Bombers has been named player of the week.
So far this year, Hefney's third season with the Bombers, he has registered 30 tackles, one sack and one interception.
