Thulin recently completed his senior campaign in the pool for Tennessee in the pool, wrapping up his final season with two new personal bests. Thulin set a career-best mark in the 50-meter freestyle at the SEC Championships in February, turning in a time of 19.97 in the prelims. The next day, he turned in another career-best in the 100-meter butterfly with a prelim time of 46.38. A native of Taby, Sweden, Thulin concludes his career with one SEC medal -- a bronze in the 200 free at the 2012 SEC Championships -- and was a four-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Born this day in 1991, Thulin is 24 years old today.
Born on May 11, 1923, Clyde Fuson is remembered as one of the Vols who gave it all when his country needed it most. A native of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Fuson was a fullback on the 1942 Tennessee team before joining the war effort. He and fellow Vols Rudy Klarer, Wills Tucker, and Bill Nowling lost their lives during WWII. Each of their numbers, including Fuson's 62, were retired in 2006.
