On Sunday, Aug. 17, after 17 years of Major League service with the organization, the Colorado Rockies honored longtime first baseman and #VFL Todd Helton  in a pregame jersey retirement ceremony at Coors Field.
Over the course of his 17 seasons with Colorado, the former Vol played in 2,247 games and stands as the Rockies' all-time leader in hits (2,519), singles (1,521), doubles (592), home runs (369), RBIs (1,406), runs scored (1,401) and walks (1,335). A five-time Major League All-Star (2000-04), he also collected three Rawlings Gold Glove Awards and four Silver Slugger Awards as the Rockies starting first baseman.
Now a member of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame, Helton also holds all-time career records for the Vols Baseball program with 38 homers, 147 walks as well as a school-record 23 saves from 1993-95.
