On Tuesday evening (7/29) against the Yankees, #VFL and current Texas first baseman J.P. Arencibia had a career night at the plate despite the Rangers' 12-11 defeat at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.
Arencibia went 4-for-5 with two homers and a career-high seven RBIs, including a grand slam home run in the 7th inning. The grand slam sparked the beginning of an offensive rally for the Rangers, marking the first grand slam home run by a Rangers player this season and the first since July 3, 2013. Arencibia's performance was also just the 17th time in club history for a player to collect seven RBIs in a single game.Â
Since his return to the Major Leagues on July 18, the former Vol is 11-for-44 (.250) with five home runs and 16 RBI in 12 games.
