In 2003, Lewis ran for 2,066 yards, the most for any Ravens player in a single season. It also ranks second in league history, behind Eric Dickerson's 2,105 total in 1984. He finished his 10-year career with 10,607 rushing yards, which ranks 21st in NFL history.
Lewis' 2000 performance as a rookie helped lead Baltimore to a Super Bowl championship as he ran for 1,364 yards.
"The reason why we were able to win the Super Bowl in 2000 was because of Jamal Lewis," general manager Ozzie Newsome said.Â
