Ellen Walshe has already experienced a highly successful international career, qualifying for her second Olympic Games during the 2023 Fukuoka World Championships. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she competed in the 100 fly and 200 IM for her home country Ireland. She also took a silver medal at the 2021 Short Course World Championships. She currently holds three Irish national records and two Tennessee school records. While at Tennessee, she was named the 2022 SEC Female Co-Swimmer of the Year, Female Freshman of the Year and won the Commissioner's Trophy in her lone season with the program.

2021-22 - FRESHMAN
NCAA MEET RECAP- Earned All-America recognition in seven events: 100 fly, 200 IM, 400 IM, 400 free relay, 800 free relay, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.
- Competed in back to back events in the 400 IM (4:09.84) and the 100 fly (51.42) earning first team All-America status in both with eighth-place finishes.
- Took 10th in the 400 medley relay with her team posting a time of 3:28.75, which ranked fifth in program history.
- Part of the 400 free relay team finishing 12th with a time of 3:13.14, checking in at 10th in UT history.
- Finished the 200 medley relay 11th overall with a time of 1:35.26.
- Threw down the fourth-fastest time in Lady Vol history in the 800 free relay touching the wall in 6:57.79.
- Recorded a mark of 1:56.89 in the 200 IM to place 16th.
- Member of the Lady Vols' SEC Championship team.
- Winner of the Commissioner's Trophy and named Swimmer of the Meet.
- Won a total number of seven medals during the week, taking gold in the 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 fly and 800 free relay while bringing home silver in the 400 free relay, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.
- Became the first swimmer in SEC history to win the 100 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM during the same meet.
- Posted the top time in program history in the 400 medley relay (3:26.88) and the 400 IM (4:01.53).
- Broke the SEC freshman record and Tennessee program record in the 400 IM with her 4:01.53 mark
- Notched a second-fastest time in program history in the 200 IM (1:52.97), 200 medley relay (1:34.63) and the 400 free relay (3:11.38).

- Had the fastest time in the 200 IM (1:59.59) against Duke and Queens (NC) (1/8/22).
- Named SEC Female Swimmer of the Week after posting five individual top-10 times in Lady Vol history during the Tennessee Invite (11/18-20/21).
- Highlight of the meet came in the 100 fly final, when she threw down the nation-leading mark of 50.24. The time vaulted her into second in the Lady Vol record books, made her the second-fastest freshman ever to swim the 100-yard fly and earned her SwimSwam's Swim of the Week recognition.
- Finished second in the 200 fly (1:53:96) and 200 IM (1:54:77), both times rank third in UT history.
- Only swam the 400 IM during prelims, touching the wall in 4:06:07 to rank fifth in the program records.
- Her 200 free split (1:44.63) from the 800 free relay was tied for the sixth-best mark in Tennessee history.
- Helped UT's 200 medley relay (1:35:89) and 400 medley relay (3:28:91) to podium finishes and NCAA A Cut times; the 400 medley relay posted the fifth-fastest time in the UT record books, while the 200 medley relay checked in at 10th.
- Placed first in the 200 fly (1:57.26) at Kentucky (11/5/21).
- Finished first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:16.47 at UNC Wilmington (10/1/21).
SUMMER 2021 - TOKYO OLYMPICS
- Swam the 100-meter butterfly and the 200-meter IM for Ireland.
- Opened the games by winning Heat 2 of the 100 fly with a time of 59.35, but the time didn't qualify for the semifinals in the event.
- Notched a time of 2:13.34 in the 200 IM during qualifying.
PERSONAL
- Part of Tennessee's second-ranked 2021 signing class, according to SwimSwam.
- Ranked as the No. 18 overall recruit in the 2021 signing class by SwimCloud.
- Irish National Record holder in the 100-meter butterfly and the 200 IM, as of Oct. 18, 2021.
