Two Vols Post NCAA Top 10 Performances At Tiger Track Classic

AUBURN, Ala. – Two members of the Tennessee men's track & field program delivered winning performances Saturday at the Tiger Track Classic that rank among the top 10 in the NCAA during the 2026 outdoor season.
Junior pole vaulter and reigning SEC indoor champion Ismaila Sawaneh notched a new outdoor personal best to win at Auburn, clearing 5.72 meters (18-9.25). His mark improves his standing as No. 3 in program history and No. 3 nationally this season. The Normandy, France, native surpassed his previous PR by one inch after entering the weekend as the SEC leader in the event.
Sophomore thrower Igor Olaru joined the 70-meter club with a victory in the men's hammer throw, recording a mark of 70.26 meters (230-6). The performance moves him to No. 2 in Tennessee history and ranks 10th nationally this season.
A pair of Tennessee seniors also secured regional-caliber marks with season-best outings on Saturday. Roddy Schenk improved his season best and finished as the top collegian in the men's javelin with a throw of 67.83 meters (222-6), which ranks 20th on the NCAA East Region qualifying list. In the pole vault, Evan Puckett cleared 5.40 meters (17-8.5), tying for 14th in the region this season.
Freshman standout Hannah Grace rounded out the Tiger Track Classic with a victory in the women's pole vault, clearing 4.35 meters (14-3.25). The Wilmington, North Carolina, native remains unbeaten through her first three collegiate competitions as a Lady Vol.
UP NEXT: Tennessee closes out the outdoor regular season next weekend, May 1-2, at the Jim Green Invitational (Lexington, Ky.) and the Duke Twilight (Durham, N.C.).
