A Pair of Second Place Finishes Highlight Day One of the Tennessee Diving Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn -- The Vols and Lady Vols capped day one of the Tennessee Diving Invitational on Wednesday with a strong day of competition, led by a pair of second place finishes.
On the women's side, Lynae Shorter got her 2026 started with a second place finish in the women's 1-meter. The junior finished the event with a score of 292.55 to lead the way for the Lady Vols. She was joined in the top five by Emma Rhines, with the freshman taking a fourth place finish in the event with a score of 270.80.
Thomas Ciprick led the way on the men's side, with the sophomore earning a second place finish in the men's 3-meter. The Calgary, Alberta native put up an impressive 415.25, en route to his second top three finish of the season. Bennett Greene followed with a fourth place result in the 3-meter. Greene finished the evening with a score of 378.95 to get his 2026 underway.
The Vols and Lady Vols are back at the pool tomorrow, as they get into day two of the Tennessee Diving Invite. The men will take on the 1-meter event, with the women competing in the 3-meter. Prelims begin at 11 a.m., with finals beginning at 4 p.m. at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. The competition will be streamed on SEC Network+.
