Simpson Earns PING All-America Honorable Mention Selection
June 09, 2025 | Men's Golf
NORMAN, Okla. - Tennessee men's golfer Lance Simpson picked up his second All-America honor this postseason, as he was slated to PING's All-America Honorable Mention list, the GCAA announced Monday.Â
Simpson comes off his redshirt junior season with a pair of All-America honors from both Golfweek and PING (GCAA) and was also slated a PING All-Southeast Region selection.Â
The Knoxville native, who is currently No. 40 in World Amateur Golf Rankings, was UT's highest finisher in six of its 12 tournaments this season and also led the team in top 10 finishes with four.Â
Additionally, Simpson posted a career-high 24 rounds of par or lower this season, which marks the third-most in a single season in program history.Â
In May, he qualified for the U.S. Open after shooting 8-under at Bent Tree Country Club's sectional qualifier. Simpson is set to kick off his summer golf slate with his major debut at the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club, which begins Thursday, June 12.Â
