
Cantú Announces Signing of Transfer Lauren Nguyen

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee women's golf coach Diana Cantú announced the signing of Lauren Nguyen Monday.
"We're thrilled to welcome Lauren to Rocky Top," said Cantú She brings a great deal of experience competing at a high level in events such as the U.S. Women's Open and has the kind of work ethic and drive that fits perfectly with our culture. Her experience and her competitiveness will be a huge asset to our team as we continue to pursue excellence on and off the course."
Nguyen, an incoming redshirt senior from Katy, Texas, spent the last four seasons at Texas A&M.
Most recently, Nguyen competed at the U.S. Women's Open at Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin Hills, Wisconsin. Nguyen qualified for the event after placing second in the final qualifer at St. Clair Country Club.
Nguyen competed in 11 tournaments for the Aggies throughout the 2024-25 season, logging four top-25 finishes. Her highest finish came at the White Sands Invitational where she tied for ninth inside a 62-player field.
Prior to her time in Bryan-College Station, Nguyen had a decorated junior golf career as she captured the 94th Texas Junior Amateur Title (2020) and was the 2019 Texas Legends Junior Tour Player of the Year.
