Cantú Named To Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Watch List

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Tennessee women's golf head coach Diana Cantú has been named to the Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Watchlist, the WGCA announced Tuesday afternoon.
Recognized as the highest annual coaching honor in women's collegiate golf, the Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride is awarded annually to the top coach in Division I, II III and NAIA women's golf.
In her fourth season at UT, Cantú guided the Lady Vols to an NCAA Championships appearance after placing fourth at the NCAA Lubbock Regional. Additionally, Tennessee advanced to the match play quarterfinals at the SEC Championships and also posted eight top-five team finishes with an overall record of 92-50-4.
Cantú has played a key role in the development of her players as well, including Kyra Van Kan, who was tabbed an SEC All-Freshman Team selection after earning a pair of SEC weekly awards this spring. Furthermore, Tennessee has a combined 14 individual top-10 showings throughout the 2024-25 season.
Cantú and the rest of the Tennessee women's golf team are back in action Friday at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California for round one of the NCAA Championships.
