Lady Vols Advance To Match Play Quarterfinals At SEC Championships

BELLEAIR, Fla. – The Tennessee women's golf team advanced to the match play quarterfinals at the SEC Championships after finishing stroke play in eighth place.
The Lady Vols will be the No. 8 seed and are set to face off against No. 1 seed South Carolina on Thursday morning. The winner of that match will advance to the semifinals later that Thursday afternoon. Semifinal matches can be streamed digitally on SEC Network+.
This marks the second time under head coach Diana Cantu that UT has advanced to the match play portion of SEC Championships.
Tennessee shot 7-over through 54 holes of stroke play competition, including a 1-over 281 in round three.
Manassanan Chotikabhukkana put up a powerful performance in round three, firing a 4-under 66 with five birdies to tie for seventh. The junior's round three score propelled her 17 spots up the leaderboard to secure the top-10 finish.
Sophomore Martina Lopez-Lanchares concluded stroke play tied for 18th after shooting 1-over overall, including a pair of 70s in rounds one and three.
Sophomore Sofie Engeseth gave UT a contributing round each day to tie for 31st.
Kyra Van Kan and Bailey Davis both tied for 55th during stroke play at the SEC Championships.
