Lopez-Lanchares Holds Individual Lead, Lady Vols In Third After One Round At Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – Tennessee women's golfer Martina Lopez-Lanchares is in first place individually after one round at the Clemson Invitational as the Lady Vols are in third place as a team.
Lopez-Lanchares fired a career-low 7-under 65 to open the tournament. The sophomore birdied eight holes en route to her round-one score and currently sits in first place.
As a team, UT shot 10-under and sits three shots back of the lead going into round two.
Manassanan Chotikabhukkana also provided a round in the 60s after logging a 3-under 69 in round one. The junior enters round two tied for sixth after shooting even-par on the front nine and three-under on the back.
Freshman Kyra Van Kan was also in red numbers on Friday, carding a 1-under 71. Van Kan currently sits tied for 21st.
Sophomore Sofie Engeseth gave UT its final counting score on day one, logging a 1-over 73. She enters day two tied for 35th.
Senior Bailey Davis shot 78 in round one and enters Saturday's round in 76th.
