Hill Inside Top 10; #23 Vols Tied for Sixth After One Round at Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – Tennessee men's golfer Josh Hill is inside the top 10 after one round at the Puerto Rico Classic as the No. 23 Tennessee men's golf team is tied for sixth.
Hill, who is coming on the heels of a top-10 performance at The Stono, fired a 4-under 68 on Monday and enters round two tied for ninth. Additionally, Hill played the par-5s and par-4s at 2-under.
As a team, the Vols shot a 6-under 282 on day one and sit two shots outside the top five ahead of moving day.
Tennessee's current season-stroke average leader, Lance Simpson, carded a 2-under 70 to open the event and sits tied for 20th going into round two.
Freshman Kai Komulainen, who is competing individually, also opened the tournament with a 70 and sits alongside Simpson inside the top 20.
Jackson Herrington was the final Vol in red numbers on Monday as he posted a 1-under 70. The Dickson, Tennessee, native enters round two just one shot outside the top 25.
Bruce Murphy and Evan Woosley-Reed both started the Puerto Rico Classic with a pair of 73s and are tied for 51st.
