INDOOR SEASON
The Tennessee distance squad will open the campaign Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6, sending athletes fresh off the cross country season to Boston for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. Additionally, a group of Vols and Lady Vols will head to Nashville for the Winter Commodore Challenge on Dec. 6 at Vanderbilt before the winter holiday break.
Action picks up with four meets in January, beginning Jan. 9-10 with the Clemson Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina. Other meets during the first month of 2025 include the Arkansas Invitational (Jan. 16), Clemson's Orange and Purple Invite (Jan. 23-24) and the Bob Pollock Invitational (Jan. 30-31), also hosted by Clemson.
Tennessee will close out the regular indoor season in February with four meets across two weekends of competition. The squad will head to Chicago for the Windy City Invite and to Blacksburg, Virginia, for the Doc Hale Invite — both taking place the weekend of Feb. 6-7 — before splitting the weekend of Valentine's Day for the Tyson Invitational (Feb. 13-14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas) and the Tiger Paw Invitational (Feb. 13-14 in Clemson, South Carolina).
Postseason competition begins with the SEC Indoor Championships, hosted by Texas A&M University and scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28, at the Fasken Indoor Track & Field Facility.
National championship qualifiers will travel back to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the NCAA Indoor Championships, taking place March 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
OUTDOOR SEASON
The Big Orange will transition to outdoor season two weeks after indoor nationals, as the Volunteer distance squad returns to Raleigh, North Carolina, for the Raleigh Relays, set for March 26-28 at NC State.
The first weekend of April, UT will send a contingent of Vols and Lady Vols to Gainesville, Florida, for the Pepsi Florida Relays (April 3-4). Tennessee will return home April 10-11 for its lone meet of the season on Rocky Top, hosting the Tennessee Invitational at Tom Black Track in Knoxville.
UT's top track performers are set to return to Gainesville for the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational (April 17-18) before closing out the month with two competitions — the Drake Relays (April 22-25 in Des Moines, Iowa) and the Tiger Track Classic (April 24-25 in Auburn, Alabama).
Tennessee will round out the 2026 regular outdoor season just north of the state line, competing May 1-2 at the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Big Orange will travel to Auburn, Alabama, May 14-16 to kick off postseason competition at the SEC Outdoor Championships. Regional qualifiers will then head to Lexington, Kentucky, May 27-30 for the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds, hosted by the University of Kentucky.
The 2026 collegiate outdoor season will conclude in Eugene, Oregon, at historic Hayward Field, where the NCAA Outdoor Championships will run Wednesday through Saturday, June 10-13.
The 2025-26 season will mark Ross' fourth year at the helm of the Tennessee program. Last season, the Vols and Lady Vols combined for 35 All-America honors, 14 SEC medals and 14 program records across the indoor and outdoor campaigns. The men's squad was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally during the outdoor season, while the women climbed to No. 10.
