ATHENS, Ga. – Tennessee freshman Bennett Greene continued his hot streak on the springboards by winning the men's 1-meter event to pace the Big Orange on the first day of the Georgia Diving Invitational.
Greene swept both the prelims and finals in the competition. In the latter event, he posted the top mark with a 378.30 effort. His final five dives in the list all went for 60 or more points. He secured the victory when he scored a 67.20 on his Forward 2 1/2 Somersault 1 Twist Pike followed by a 66.0 on a Reverse 1 1/2 Somersault 2 1/2 Twist Free to end the day.
The Knoxville, Tenn., native has now won five of his nine individual events so far this season.
