#5 Lady Vols Cruise Past Razorbacks

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The fifth-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols cruised to a midweek victory Thursday, defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks 164-72 at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

- The Big Orange extended its SEC dual meet win streak to five in a row, including three victories in the last month.Â
- During their last three dual meets, the Lady Vols have won 40Â of 45 events against No. 15 Alabama, Arkansas and Kentucky.Â
- Against the Razorbacks, Tennessee took first in 11 of the 13 events and finished with the fastest time in each race.
- Of Tennessee's nine individual wins, four were secured by freshmen. The 2024 Lady Vol signing class ranked fourth in the country, according to SwimSwam, and has already made a huge impact on Rocky Top.
- Camille Spink led the way for the Big Orange, recording a pair of wins in the 100 free (48.35) and 200 free (1:45.74). The reigning SEC Swimmer of the Week now boasts nine individual victories this season.
- She also added a third win in the 200 free relay to cap the day. In that race, she swam the third leg and threw down a blazing 21.94 split.
- Tennessee swept the 50 free, 200 free, 500 free and 100 back on the day.
- The Lady Vols secured the top two times in the 200 medley relay to open the meet. The A lineup of Lexi Stephens, McKenzie Siroky, Brooklyn Douthwright and Jillian Crooks touched the wall in 1:39.62. The B team of Ella Jansen, Mona McSharry, Sara Stotler and Amber Myers came in second behind a time of 1:40.75.
- After winning both distance freestyle events last week, Kate McCarville strolled to victory in the 1650 free (16:16.88) to open the individual competition on Thursday and secured a second-place finish in the 500 free (4:54.04)
- Ella Jansen, the reigning SEC Freshman of the Week, enjoyed another productive day in the pool, leading a sweep in the 500 free behind a 4:46.22 mark. She also took second in the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:46.48.
- Mona McSharry and Jillian Crooks sparked a thrilling finish by touching the wall simultaneously in the 50 free (22.94). The Lady Vols swept the event thanks to Amber Myers taking third (23.07).
- Lexi Stephens (53.50), Myers (55.67) and Molly Blanchard (56.73) dominated the podium in the 100 back.
- Hannah Marinovich (1:02.52) and Jordan Aurnou-Rhees (1:06.19) claimed first and third in the 100 breast.
- Emily Brown showcased her swimming skills with a top-place finish in the 400 IM (4:13.68).
- Sara Stotler posted the top time in the 100 fly, throwing down a 54.73 effort.
- Stotler, McSharry, Spink and Julia Mrozinski helped the Lady Vols finish strong in the final event of the day with a first-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:32.19).
- Lynae Shorter led the Big Orange on the springboards, battling for a pair of second-place finishes in the 1-meter (275.18) and 3-meter (302.33).
- Julia Mrozinski added a pair of podium finishes. She placed second in the 100 free with a 51.20 time and was third in the 200 free (1:50.27).
