SAN ANTONIO, Texas - UT golfers Lance Simpson and Evan Woosley-Reed are inside the top 10 after one round at the Valero Texas Collegiate as the sixth-ranked Tennessee men's golf team is tied for seventh.

The Vols shot a 6-under 282 on Saturday and enter moving tied Clemson.

Simpson and Woosley-Reed set the tone for the Big Orange in round one and fired a pair of 3-under 69s. The duo sits tied for ninth ahead of round two.

Sophomore Josh Hill shot a 1-under 71 in the opening round and is tied for 35th ahead of Sunday's round.

Freshman Jackson Herrington provided the Big Orange with their final contributing round of the day, shooting a 1-over 73. Herrington currently sits tied for 50th.

Pearce Lewin, who is competing as an individual, also enters the second round tied for 50th after shooting a round-one 73.

Bruce Murphy opened the event with a 75 and is currently tied for 69th.
