KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Thanks to their impressive performances this year, Tennessee swimmers Erika Connolly and Josephine Fuller were selected for the 2024-25 U.S. National Team roster, USA Swimming announced Monday evening.
Â
"As we start the LA 2028 quad, we are thrilled to announce a roster of athletes who genuinely embody the best aspects of our sport," said USA Swimming Interim Chief Executive Officer Shana Ferguson. "This team features a strong mix of veteran presence and emerging talent certain to showcase their USA Swimming club teams and universities at the highest levels of international competition."
Â
A member of the 2024 Paris Olympic Team for the U.S., Connolly was selected for the 100 free, while Fuller secured her spot in the 100 back. The swimmers will represent the Red, White and Blue on the international stage throughout the 2024-25 competitive swimming season.
Â
In her second Olympic appearance, Connolly helped Team USA bring home silver in the 4x100 free relay. It marked the third Olympic medal of her decorated career, giving her two silver and one bronze. Between the Summer Games and both world championship events (LCM and SCM), she boasts a combined 16 medals won, including seven gold. This is her fifth appearance on the U.S. National Team roster.
Â
Fuller enjoyed a strong performance at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which earned her a spot on the team for the first time in her career. The Lady Vol senior posted a personal-best effort in the 100 back semifinals, touching the wall in 58.79. She finished fourth overall during the finals, and the two individuals who were selected for the Olympic roster for the Red, White and Blue medaled at the Paris Games.
Â
Last season, Fuller led the Lady Vols to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, earning All-America recognition in seven events. She won the first individual NCAA medal of her career in the 200 IM, recording a personal-best time of 1:52.04 to claim bronze. In addition, she tallied the first silver medal of her career as a member of the 800 free relay lineup. She added a pair of top-five finishes in both backstroke events to round out her impressive performance.
