Tennessee Dominates Minnesota on Senior Day

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – Celebrating Senior Day, the 16th-ranked Tennessee rowing team faced off against Minnesota Friday evening at Melton Hill Lake.
A Tennessee boat was victorious in each of Friday's four races, with the 1V8+, 1V4+, 2V8+ and 2V4+ crews picking up wins on the day.
Sasha Radovanovic coxed the lineup of Meg Flanagan, Megan Hewison, Sarah Abrams, Alice Fahey, Stella Mirkovic, Alex Pidgeon, Katie Rice and Emma Seawright to a time of 6:18.5. The boat crossed the finish line nearly 14 seconds ahead of Minnesota in the 1V8+.
Audrey Bast coxed Hannah Smith, Logan Yates, Channing Taner and Sheya Lavin to a win over Minnesota's 1V4+ crew by over 25 seconds.
In the 2V8+ and 3V8+ race, the Lady Vols placed first and second in the three-boat race. Elizabeth Walley coxed the 2V8+ composed of Sophie Hill, Erin Gifford, Hannah Richardson, Allison Lea, Riley Ferdelman, Gracie Condon, Nicole Campbell and Paige Reymann to a 6:30.7 finish, nearly 29 seconds ahead of Minnesota.
Finishing second in that race and impressively ahead of Minnesota's 2V8+ crew was UT's 3V8+, as Mykayla Fluster coxed Lili Binetti, Paris Thornburg, Kiana Worobey, Evelyn Hedrick, Megan Czarnecki, Emarie Peacock, Maiya Birdling and Kayla Anderson to a 7:00.8 finish.
The 2V4+ and 3V4 race saw Tennessee log another victory, as the 2V4+ crew crossed the line first with a time of 7:23.5. Minnesota's 2V4+ finished in second place, while the Lady Vols' 3V4 crew posted a time of 8:01.34 and finished in third place.
Up next, Tennessee travels to the Sunshine State for the Big Ten Invite, running April 19-20 in Sarasota, Florida.
