Holden in Fourth Place, Lady Vols in Sixth After Two Rounds at Chevron Collegiate

HOUSTON -- Tennessee women's golf concluded two rounds at the Chevron Collegiate on Monday, sitting in sixth place behind a career day from senior Kayla Holden, who is in fourth place individually. The Port St. Lucie, Florida, native shot a bogey-free 6-under (66) in round one -- the lowest of her career -- and followed it up with a 2-under (70) in round two.
As a team, the Lady Vols shot 11-under (565) at the Golf Club of Houston, highlighted by a 10-under (278) in the second round, the fourth-best in the tournament.
Holden led Tennessee from start to finish, notching birdies on five of her opening seven holes en route to her best-ever round. The senior will be looking for her second straight top-10 finish on Tuesday.
Junior Bailey Davis carried her good form into Monday's action, recording two eagles in round one. She followed an impressive first round with an even better second, posting a 7-under (65) thanks to nine birdies.
Competing as an individual, freshman Martina Lopez-Lanchares shot a career-best 5-under (67) in round two and is placed 34th, highest of all individuals.
Sophomore Manassanan Chotikabhukkana bounced back from a round-one 2-over (74) with a 1-under (71) in the next round. She is tied for 45th place with a score of 1-over (145). Vanessa Gilly is one stroke behind her at 2-over (146), and Angela Arora is at 3-over (147).
