Redfearn Sets New Personal Best on 3-Meter to Highlight Day 3 of Auburn Diving Invite

AUBURN, Ala. – Both the Vols and Lady Vols were in action Thursday during the Auburn Diving Invitational, with one diver setting a new personal-best score.

The men took on the 3-meter springboard and claimed three of the top seven spots in the event. After winning 1-meter on Wednesday, freshman Bennett Greene continued his impressive meet by taking second with a score of 362.40.

Greene was followed by Owen Redfearn, who placed third overall thanks to a career-high 359.10 effort—nearly a 35-point improvement from his prelim score of 324.70. He started the list off strong behind a pair of dives that eclipsed 65 points. Rounding things out for the Vols, Nick Stone finished seventh with a mark of 330.05.

In the women's 1-meter, Lynae Shorter led the way with a score of 265.10 to take ninth, while Maddie Reese placed 12th (240.10). Callie Borda also competed, recording a mark of 195.35 during prelims.

On Friday, the Big Orange will compete in the men's platform and women's 3-meter prelims simultaneously at 11:30 a.m. ET followed by finals in each event. Fans can watch live on SEC Network+.
