White Announces Promotions in Athletic Department Cabinet

UT promoted five individuals within the leadership team
Danny White, Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics at Tennessee, announced several promotions within his leadership team on Wednesday.

Ryan Alpert has been appointed as the Senior Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Revenue Officer. In this position, he will spearhead the department's revenue generation strategies and work to enhance its financial sustainability. With a focus on maximizing resources, Alpert will oversee a variety of critical functions that contribute to the athletics program's overall success.

Alpert will manage critical areas such as the Neyland Entertainment District, business and finance, capital projects, UT's Nike contract, data analytics and information technology.Â

Cameron Walker has been elevated to Senior Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Strategy Officer. In his new role, he will develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the overall success and growth of the athletics program. Since joining Rocky Top, Walker has served as the sport administrator for the Vols' football team. In his new capacity, he will oversee a wide range of essential areas, including compliance and legal affairs, facilities and grounds, event operations, sports administration, and initiatives related to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).Â

Brady Hart, who oversees the Tennessee Fund, has been promoted to Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Development Officer. For the third consecutive year, the Tennessee Fund achieved record-breaking fundraising during the 2024 fiscal year (FY24), contributing significantly to the University of Tennessee Foundation's historic campus fundraising total of $332 million. The Tennessee Fund alone accounted for $139.7 million in FY24, marking the best year of athletics fundraising in school history.

Alicia Longworth has been appointed Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Marketing Officer for Tennessee Athletics. She oversees all of UT's external engagement units and has played a pivotal role in transforming the gameday experience for fans and athletes at all of Tennessee's athletic venues. Longworth also leads Tennessee Athletics' ticket sales and operations, fan experience, broadcasting, trademarks and licensing, concessions, spirit, and shared oversight of the creative enterprise. Tennessee creative continues to lead the way in storytelling, content diversity and overall engagement across many social media platforms.Â

Marshall Steward has been promoted to Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Competitive Officer. Under Steward's leadership, Tennessee's student-athletes have raised all-sport GPAs, graduation rates, and post-graduate placement to unprecedented heights, establishing school records in all three areas during his tenure.

As Deputy Athletics Director, Steward directs various critical, student-facing areas including sports nutrition, sports performance, sports science and sports medicine. Additionally, Steward has oversight of athletics camps, equipment, parking and housing along with student conduct and Title IX.
