Hattie Wins Third SEC Diver of the Week Honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After an impressive outing last week at the Tennessee Diving Invite, Bryden Hattie was tabbed the SEC Diver of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.Â

The Victoria, British Columbia, native earned the SEC Diver of the Week award after notching two victories at the Tennessee Diving Invite, which featured a multitude of ranked teams from around the country.Â

On platform, Hattie earned a mark of 479.20, thanks to a final dive of 86.40 points in the Back 2 1/2 Somersault 1 1/2 Twist Pike. For the event, he averaged 8.58 points per dive, and he had three attempts net over 80 points. The senior, who placed second overall in the event at the 2023 NCAA Championships, also won the tower competition during the Tennessee Invitational in November.Â

During the 3-meter event, Hattie landed a meet-best dive of 81.6 on his final attempt to bring his winning total to 404.75. He also added a seventh-place finish on 1-meter (320.15) to round out the week.

This is Hattie's third SEC weekly honor of the year and ninth of his career, and this also marks the third week that Tennessee has earned SEC weekly awards. Jordan Crooks and Hattie were honored after the double dual against Florida and Kentucky, while Crooks, Hattie and Mona McSharry took home honors after their impressive outings at the Tennessee Invite.Â
