Bynum Tabbed SEC Men’s Runner of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference office announced Tuesday afternoon that Tennessee fifth-year senior sprinter Emmanuel Bynum was selected as Co-SEC Men's Runner of the Week after his performance on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Ted Nelson Invitational.
One week after tying his school record in the 300-meter, Bynum saw action in his first 400-meter dash of the year at Texas A&M. The Memphis native posted an SEC-leading time of 46.05, which ranks second in the NCAA this season and No. 4 on the World Athletics top list for 2024.
The nine-time All-American receives his second career SEC weekly award after being tabbed SEC Freshman of the Week on Jan. 21, 2020. This marks the second consecutive week a Tennessee athlete has been recognized by the conference, as Jacious Sears was tabbed Co-SEC Women's Runner of the Week on Jan. 16.
