Gilly Leads Lady Vols Through Opening Rounds of ICON Invitational

HUMBLE, Texas – Tennessee's women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the ICON Invitational on Monday, led by Vanessa Gilly with two par or better scores.
Gilly led the Lady Vols through the opening 36 holes at Golf Club of Houston, shooting even par in the first round and 1-under in the second, notching her sixth and seventh rounds of par or better this season. The junior is tied for 34th place at -1 overall ahead of the third round.
Caroline Patterson posted a 73 in the first round and a 71 in round two, recording her third round of par or better this season. The freshman is tied for 40th place (even par overall) with one round to go. Junior Kayla Holden carded a pair of 74s in the opening rounds and is tied for 61st place (+4 overall) ahead of Tuesday.
Freshman Manassanan Chotikabhukkana shot +4 (76) in the first round and +2 (74) in the second, while graduate Emily Hawkins, who is competing as an individual, posted a 79 (+7) and 71 (-1), recording her first round of par or better this season. The pair is tied for 69th place at +6 overall ahead of the third round.
Angela Arora, playing in her second collegiate tournament, carded a 77 in the opening round and a 74 in round two and is tied for 78th place (+7 overall) ahead of tomorrow's final round.
As a team, the Lady Vols notched a 36-hole score of 290 (+9) and is in 13th place out of the 16-team field with one round to go.
