SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The seventh-ranked Tennessee men's golf team concluded round two at the Puerto Rico Classic on Monday and sits in eighth place as a team entering the tournament's final round.
The Vols shot 6-under as a team during round two, bringing their two-round total to 9-under, while two Vols sit in the top 20 entering Tuesday.
Giving Tennessee its best counting round was Bryce Lewis, who notched a 5-under round of 67 that included seven birdies. With Monday's round, Lewis is at 6-under overall and enters the final round tied for fourth place.
Also tied for fourth place is Laurent Desmarchais, who is competing as an individual. The sophomore rallied a 3-under 69 during round two to get himself to a 6-under total.
Sitting three strokes back of Lewis and Desmarchais is Caleb Surratt, who gave UT its second-best counting round with a 1-under 71 to get to 3-under overall. The true freshman enters Tuesday's round inside the top 20.
Josh Hill also recorded a 1-under 71 during round two and recorded his first counting round as a Vol. The true freshman is tied for 62nd overall after the completion of rounds one and two.
Competing individually, Jake Hall posted his second 1-under round of the tournament to go into the final round at 2-under overall and currently sits tied for 26th.
Providing Tennessee with its final counting round on Monday was Evan Woosley-Reed, who logged a 1-over 73. The Shelbyville native sits tied for 26th alongside Hall. In addition to Woosley-Reed, Cade Russell shot 1-over in round two and is tied for 69th going into the final day.
Lance Simpson registered a 4-over 76 in the second round and sits tied for 67th place entering round three.
