Chotikabhukkana Places Second at Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- It was a career showing for Tennessee sophomore Manassanan Chotikabhukkana, who posted a career-best 7-under (206) en route to a second-place finish at the 26th annual Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship.
The best finish of her career was highlighted by a 67 in round two on Monday and a 69 in the third and final round on Tuesday at Cherokee County Club. As a team, the Lady Vols shot 6-over (290) on Tuesday and finished the tournament at 15-over (867) in ninth place.
After four bogeys in round one on Sunday capped her at 1-under, Chotikabhukkana only logged two bogeys over the remaining 36 holes, leveraging thirteen total birdies to achieve her 7-under scorecard. Her last three tournaments have netted a 71.11 round average and second, ninth and twelfth-place finishes.
Vanessa Gilly recorded her second consecutive even-par score on Tuesday and finished 20th overall. The senior recorded a par or better in 47 of 54 holes, resulting in a cumulative score of 2-over (215).
Competing as an individual, sophomore Angela Arora shot even-par on the day, thanks to two birdies in her final five holes. She wrapped up the tournament tied for 33rd place at 5-over (218).
In her debut appearance in the Lady Vol starting five, freshman Martina-Lopez Lanchares shot 10-over (223) and placed 50th. Sophomore Caroline Patterson tied for 59th with a 54-hole score of 13-over (226), and senior Kayla Holden shot 16-over (229) to place 65th. Competing as an individual, junior Bailey Davis placed 75th with a cumulative score of 23-over (236).
