Chotikabhukkana in 2nd Heading into Final Day of Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After shooting a stellar 67 in round two on Tuesday, Tennessee sophomore Manassanan Chotikabhukkana is tied for second place with a cumulative score of 5-under (137) at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship. As a team, the Lady Vols shot 3-over (287) on the day and sit in 7th place overall at the Cherokee Country Club.
Chotikabhukkana's 67 matches her career best obtained earlier this season at the Cougar Classic. She birdied five of her first 10 holes on the day, catapulting her from 14th to 2nd. Her best-ever collegiate finish also came earlier this season, when she placed T-9th at the Mary Fossum Invitational.
Senior Vanessa Gilly built upon her strong close to Sunday's action, logging two birdies en route to a even-par (71) finish. The Venezuelan is tied for 18th place headed into the third and final round on Tuesday.
Competing as an individual, sophomore Angela Arora carded a 2-over (73) to move into 39th place. Freshman Martina Lopez-Lanchares shot a 75 and sits in 42nd place in her first appearance in the Lady Vol starting five.
Fellow sophomore Caroline Patterson heads into Tuesday's action in 47th place after a 75 put her at 7-over (149). Kayla Holden improved by six strokes on Monday and now sits tied for 64th at 12-over (154). Individually, Bailey Davis shot a 79 on the round and sits in 76th place.
The third and final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. ET on Tuesday. An award ceremony will commence after the conclusion of play in the afternoon.
