January 02, 2023 | Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming & Diving, Men's Swimming & Diving
ATHENS, Ga. – Tennessee diving kicks off a busy week of competition to begin the new year for UT by heading to the Georgia Diving Invitational on January 3-5.
The Vols and Lady Vols join Iowa State, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, NC State, South Carolina, SMU and Virginia along with the hosting Bulldogs to make up the field for the three-day meet. Each day's session will begin at 11 a.m. with men's and women's events running concurrently. Finals will begin 15 minutes following the conclusion of the prelims session.
To open the week, the women's 3-meter and the men's 1-meter will highlight Tuesday's slate. On Wednesday, the women will compete on platform, while the men will take on the 3-meter. Competition ends Thursday with the women's 1-meter and the men's platform.
Tennessee is coming off the Auburn Diving Invitational just a few weeks ago. During that competition, Bryden Hattie posted the nation's best score to win the platform (450.80). Jacob Reasor finished with a pair of new personal records set on the springboards. For the Lady Vols, three top-10 scores in program history were set on platform, with Madison Reese leading the way with her 310.15 score ranking third in the UT record books. Tanesha Lucoe recorded a season-high mark of 280.65, which moved her up to No. 7 in the record books. Grace Cable topped her previous career high thanks to a 276.75 effort to check in at ninth in UT history.
