Webb Announces 2022-23 Men’s Golf Schedule

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Less than two months out from the start of the fall season, Tennessee head men's golf coach Brennan Webb announced the Vols' complete 2022-23 schedule Wednesday.
Tennessee is scheduled to complete in nine stroke play tournaments as well as the SEC Match Play Championship for the second straight year in September. Including the match play event, the Vols will compete in four total fall events before participating in five regular season spring tournaments prior to April's SEC Championships.
For the first time since 1995, Tennessee is set to open the season outside of the southeast—traveling to The Mirabel Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, for the Maui Jim Intercollegiate from September 9-11.
Two weeks later, the Vols will partake in the SEC Match Play Championships from September 25-27—an event in its second year of existence. Last season at the event, Tennessee posted a 2-2 record over the course of three days. While still taking place in the Birmingham area this year, the event is set to be contested at Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills, Alabama an opposed to last fall's location of Shoal Creek Golf Course.
From Oct. 10-11 at the Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Indiana, Tennessee will make its first ever regular-season appearance in the Hoosier State at the Purdue Fall Invitational.
The Vols then round out the fall at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate from Oct. 21-23 in Alpharetta, Georgia—marking the third time in the last four seasons that UT has participated in the tournament.
Tennessee's spring schedule features six tournaments, including the SEC Championships. The Vols will venture outside the mainland United States twice, as well as visiting four different states in the other four tournaments.
For the third time in four seasons, the Vols will open the spring by taking part in the Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Purdue in San Juan, Puerto Rico at Grand Reserve Golf Club from Feb. 12-14. Last season at the Puerto Rico Classic, Bryce Lewis tied the individual program record for best 54-hole score in relation to par with a 16-under performance that resulted in a second-place finish.
After a three-week hiatus, Tennessee then makes a second consecutive trip outside the U.S. from March 5-7 for the Cabo Collegiate in Cabo Del Sol, Mexico. It marks Tennessee's second straight appearance at the event—Lewis recorded one of his three top-10 finishes of the season at last season's tournament with a 10-under score.
Tennessee rounds out the regular season with three tournaments in the United States, beginning with the All-American Intercollegiate in Houston from March 20-21. The Vols then compete in the Mossy Oak Collegiate in Starkville, Mississippi, from April 3-4 at Mossy Oak Golf Club before closing out the regular season at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tennessee, at Vanderbilt Legends Club from April 10-12.
Tennessee competed in the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Course in 2019 and 2022, finishing third as a team both times.
